Dungeons & Dragons:
D&D is a role playing game (RPG), where the players are known as player characters (PCs for short), and the gamemaster is known as the Dungeon Master (DM). The theme of the game is of fantasy, a place of heroes, monsters and magic.
The first thing the players do is to generate their character. Each character is identified by six basic attributes: Strength, Intelligence, Wisdom, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma. These attributes initially lie in the range of 3 to 18, determined by rolling five, normal, six-sided dice and adding the best three. Players do this six times to generate their six attributes. The player then chooses which value to associate with which attribute. This decision is based on the class of character the player wants to play. The characters can be fighters, thieves, magic-users or clerics (spell casting holy men,) or a combination of them. Magic-users need high intelligence to cast spells, whilst for fighter strength dexterity and constitution are important, the other classes have other prime attributes associated with them. The player can also choose a race for the character. What races are valid is entirely dependent upon where the characters start in the world, the Player's Handbook details humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, half-elves, and halflings.
Warhammer
Warhammer is a table top wargame set in a fantasy (think Lord of the Rings..) world. It is set in a which is inhabited by all manner of foul and fantastic races. There are generic fantasy races such as Men, Elves and Dwarves, and more unique ones like Lizardmen and Skaven. Currently in it's Sixth edition, Warhammer is one of the longest running and most popular wargames around.
Vampire - The Masquerade
Vampire is an adult role-playing game written by Mark Rein*Hagen and published by White Wolf. Unlike D&D, it takes place in today's world -- but in the context of the game, vampires and other supernatural beings are real. It has a "Gothic-Punk" setting and feel, and the overall theme of the game is that of personal horror and redemption.
Fallout
Set in the aftermath of a world-wide nuclear war, Fallout will challenge you to survive in an unknown and dangerous world. You will take the role of a Vault-dweller, a person who has grown up in a secluded, underground survival Vault. Circumstances arise that force you to go Outside -- to a strange world 80 years after the end of the modern civilization. A world of mutants, radiation, gangs and violence.

Final Fantasy
In the year 2065 millions of alien beings roam the Earth after being released from a crashing meteorite. They threaten to wipe out all life, but the remaining humans have barricaded themselves into a few protected cities. There the protagonist Dr Aki Ross strives to find the solution which will save Earth, the collecting together of eight 'spirit waves'. However, it's not as easy as that. Aki has been infected with an alien virus which is slowly killing her, and to add further to her troubles there is General Hein, who has built a vast space gun that will certainly annihilate the aliens but probably the Earth with them.
